Here was the dilemma posed to me. So where to go in August? It’s going to be crowded in Europe. Venice would be nice but would it be stinky? The Baltic is not an option – been there done that. It’s winter in the Southern Hemisphere, too hot and humid in Asia.
When I posed the same question to my Saturday morning coffee group I was told in no uncertain terms – “That is a real first world problem”.
True. This really gave me food for thought. However it might be a first world problem but it also happens to be my job and therefore my problem. Some people only have time off in August (like teachers for example) and they need good advice as to where to go.
Do they want to be in Venice in the height of the tourist season?
Or Vietnam in a typhoon
Or maybe a nice little driving holiday in Britain
I got it! South Pacific….. there you go. Palm trees, summer all year round, perfect in August – cool and dry with an average temperature of 29C. Even Karl Pilkington would be happy there –
Don’t forget your bow and arrow!
